About the Owners

April Higgason, MA, BCBA

April is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. She has worked across a range of settings—including homes, schools, clinics, and community environments—delivering person-centered, evidence-based behavior support services.

April holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University and a Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism from Ball State University. She earned her BCBA certification in 2018 and additional certification in Organizational Behavior Management in 2019.

April co-owns and directs New Beginnings Behavior Intervention Services, where she combines her clinical expertise with strong leadership and business operations experience. Passionate about holistic, individualized care, April is dedicated to helping clients and families build on strengths and reduce challenges in meaningful, engaging ways.

Outside of work, April enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves outdoor activities, creating art, playing sports, and lifelong learning—especially in the areas of neuropsychology, trauma-informed care, and executive functioning. April identifies as neurodivergent and values personal growth, curiosity, and connection.

Rachel-Mae Curtis

Rachel-Mae earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 2009 and received her teaching license in 2010. That same year, she completed national training in Conscious Discipline, launching her work in early intervention and behavior management.

In 2018, Rachel completed a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism. Since 2019, she has provided behavioral services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Indiana’s Home and Community-Based Waiver program. Her work includes supporting individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, cognitive delays, and traumatic brain injuries.
